Description: For Day 7 of NaPoWriMo. Mother Nature has taken this “April showers” thing seriously this year. And that’s okay.
The haze conceals any trace of stars
The sun seeps like smog to the east
Gray hangs low
Dew drips thick
I inhale air fresh with rain
Step into this open space and begin
To smile
Close my eyes and feel
Each echoed hint of thunder
And wonder
Why ever
You’d shun these days
