Description: Really? Six books for a class? You must be trippin.
stuff money in the
empty spaces of my bookshelf
the little there is
they say I need it to live
an opinion which I’m
obligated to obey

Description: For the Daily Prompt’s Write Here, Write Now prompt, I now write a post in present tense. Fittingly, a situation I find myself in presently.
I pick it up and turn the page
Eagerly!
The next the next!
Battles, love unwrap before me
From page to page
And scene to scene
So bittersweet
I yearn to know
But slowly now I try to go
I savor these last moments of ignorance
Such pleasure courses through me!
Such restraint I bear!
The excitement
My hands shake
It tears me apart!
Composed 9/24/15
Description: The hardest part of this was the title. Otherwise it’s rather… simple.
Take me like you take a book
Cradle me in your hands
Peel me open
Engage with me
Laugh and think and weep with me
Throughout your day
I hope you yearn
To pick me up again

Description: For Writing 201: Day 9. Found poetry about landscape using enumeratio.
This one posed a challenge. Found poetry is extremely limiting; however, I understand that heightens creativity! My problem is I get stuck trying to use a meaningful “found” medium. I finally decided to describe the view from my bedroom window using the books from my bedroom bookcase… Thus, this found poem using book binds.
down
ever a gothic dream
a ghost dance
a white journey
night story
time changes
the woods web mysteries

Description: (Day 19 of NaPoWriMo) My friend and I explored the mall and the bookstore today, which instigated a book-buying kick (for me anyway).
I grasp smooth binds like children’s hands
And let them unfold inside my palms
Each finger so crisp, white, clean
They fall free and lead me away
To love songs and laments, to curses and psalms
To the depths of minds and distant lands
They grasp tight ‘til journey’s end
Often though reaching again
Wrinkling with age and love
